Makeup for beginners - a basic look
To start doing makeup that will serve as a base for any occasion - be it daytime, nighttime, casual, party makeup - you will need to prepare your skin. Check out the step-by-step and follow the illustration example:
- Spread the foundation in your skin tone all over your face with your fingers or with the help of a makeup sponge.
- Then apply the concealer to your eyelids, both upper and lower, to hide dark circles and any pimples or blemishes you may have on your face. This is already the first step of face lighting.
- Then use the bronzer to contour and shade the face. Apply with a smudge brush or a sponge around the cheeks, on the sides of the nose and on the upper part of the forehead, as shown in the image below.
- To finish your skin base, finish your skin lightening, using the highlighter to create lighter spots on your face. Apply with a brush or with your fingers, in the center of the forehead, below the eyebrows, on the bridge of the nose, on the apple of the cheek, on the underline of the lips and in the center of the chin.
- Then correct the flaws in the eyebrows with the help of a brush and a shadow that matches the tone of your hair.
- Complete the look with a discreet blush on the cheeks, below the line where you applied the highlighter.
- Now that you've learned how to prepare your skin correctly, if you want, you can apply just one lip gloss and you're ready to face your day to day.
Makeup for beginners - one step further
If you manage to get this far, you've already successfully completed the first steps for beginner makeup. But, if you want to improve your look, we will offer you a lightweight option, which can be used at work, on casual outings, to hang out with your crush or to meet friends.
First, you need to know the different types of brushes to know which one to use when applying eye shadow:
- To create depth in the eyes, use the smudging brush and apply a brown or beige eyeshadow to the lower eyelid. Smoke well, until it's homogeneous and smooth.
- Use a lighter shade on top, also with the blending brush, and expand to the inner part of the eyes and closer to the eyebrows.
- If you want to highlight the eyes, make the outline very close to the upper and lower lashes, with the eyeliner brush and a darker eyeshadow, blending well in the corners.
- Finally, apply highlighter to the inner corner of your eyes.
- Then, let's move on to the lips: pass a pencil, a shade darker than your lipstick, to draw the outline of the mouth.
- To finish, gently apply the lipstick to the lips.
