How the light brown 5.0 looks on the hair is one of the most frequent doubts of women who want to bet on the color. We at Fica Diva discovered this and decided to tell you everything you need to know about this nuance and tips for dyeing your hair at home.

In general, light brown is not as light a shade as people imagine. It is just two tones above dark brown and, therefore, is slightly more illuminated with the brown background quite present. However, depending on your base color, the result of light brown 5.0 on your hair may vary. Were you curious? Come find out more!

The light brown nuance 5.0 will have different results on different hairs. The darker your natural hair color is, the darker the final result. Likewise, if your locks are lighter, the light brown will be brighter, but the brown will still be very present. It is worth remembering that although it has the name “light”, this nuance is not super open and does not look very light on most hair. Here's what to expect in each case:

- From dark brown to light brown: dark brown is one of the most prevalent natural hair colors among Spanish women. When going from this base color to light brown 5.0, the result will be a slightly lit brown. It's like you've gone from black - the color dark brown is often confused with - to really brown hair.

- From dark blonde to light brown 5.0: if you're a natural blonde and thinking about going brunette, light brown is a good bet. This coloring applied over light bases results in a more luminous brown and a little more open, but still very discreet and delicate. The difference is most notable in brightly lit environments.

And who has already dyed hair? Well, if your hair has a darker color, there is no way: you will need to bleach it to reach the light brown 5.0 because one dye does not lighten the other. However, if the objective is to darken hair dyed blonde, you can apply the new color directly to the strands. But remembering that it is only recommended to darken the hair every two tones. That is, it is only indicated to darken with the 5.0 ink who is at the height of the 7.0, which corresponds to the medium blonde.

Want well lit light brown hair? Know more nuances beyond 5.0

As you've seen, light brown 5.0 is not the most suitable shade to make the locks super luminous because the result is a very discreet brown in most cases. Therefore, you can bet on other nuances to achieve a more vibrant result.

Nuances with golden reflections, such as the Light Brown Golden 5.3 and the Illuminated Caramel Brown 6.35, both in Cor&Ton, are spot on. Copper reflections also guarantee a lot of luminosity to the locks. For this reason, we suggest Castanho Illuminated Café 6.41, also by Cor&Ton.

How to dye your hair light brown at home: check out the step by step

Now that you know everything about light brown 5.0, let's go step by step on how to dye your hair at home. First of all, do the strand test to see if your locks are strong enough for the transformation. If all goes well, you can move on.

To dye your hair, you'll need your hair dye, a towel, a plastic bowl, a brush, and a wide-toothed plastic comb. Follow the step by step:

Step 1: Put on the gloves that come in the coloring box and pour the coloring with the oxidizer into the plastic container. Mix with the brush until the consistency is homogeneous;

Step 2: Divide the hair into small sections. It is important that it is dry and has not been washed for at least one day and a maximum of three days;

Step 3: Start applying the mixture at the root, length and ends. Keep applying to all divisions until the entire mixture has been applied to all of the hair;

Step 4: Comb the strands with the wide tooth comb. Then massage the length and roots, distributing the dye throughout the hair;

Step 5: Let it act for 40 minutes. Always respect this pause time for a perfect result. You can set a timer on your cell phone so you don't lose time. Another tip is to leave your hair loose while you wait, because trapping the strands can stain them.

Step 6: Once the 40 minutes have passed, rinse your hair well and remove all the product. Rinsing can be done with water only, without the need for shampoo.

Step 7: The Cor&Ton ink boxes contain the FixaCor treatment, three sachets enriched with D-Panthenol, keratin and UV filter, to hydrate the threads and make the color last longer. Apply the first sachet right after rinsing, let it act for three minutes and rinse again. The second and third sachet should be applied 15 and 30 days after coloring, respectively.

Pretty easy, isn't it, diva? It's just worth remembering that this step by step is for those who won't need to bleach their hair to achieve light brown 5.0. If you need to remove any coloring that is already present in the hair, check out the discoloration step by step before painting.
