Many women believe that damaged hair can only be recovered with a whole day in a beauty salon chair. Whether it's because of problems with chemicals, excessive heat or other issues, from time to time it's good, yes, to have the help of your hairdresser to solve some problems... but did you know that this is not the only possible solution? You can make this SOS for your strands and restore them to health at home. Want to find out how? Take a look at these care tips below!

Hair reconstruction is the first care for damaged hair

The first thing you need to worry about doing with damaged hair is to strengthen the hair fiber. And that's where capillary reconstruction comes in: either with the treatment mask or the liquid keratin, replacing this protein is essential for the strands to recover. Capillary reconstruction repairs the thread from the inside out, that is: while it strengthens, it also reduces frizz and leaves the look more aligned and beautiful.

It must be done once a week while the wires remain damaged. After that, increase the interval to two weeks for chemically treated hair and one month for natural hair.

Use nutrition and hydration between rebuilds for damaged hair

Even if hair reconstruction is the basis of treatment for damaged hair, hydration and nutrition also need to be part of the day-to-day care. They will serve to replace water and nutrients for the wires and, as the reconstruction seals the cuticles, these substances will remain longer in the wire. Over time, you will notice softer, silkier, shinier and frizz-free hair.

Hydration can be done with pure treatment cream or in mixtures that serve to enhance care. For nutrition, you'll need to look for products that have natural oils in the formula or use them directly on moisturises, perfect for dry and split ends. Intersperse these treatments between once and twice a week, always giving an interval of at least 48 hours between each one.

Invest in treatment shampoos and conditioners

Deep care plays a big role in recovering damaged hair, but the result appears much faster if you also rely on the help of products that prolong the treatment in your day-to-day care. So choosing shampoos, conditioners, combing creams and other finishers that have nutritious and moisturizing ingredients helps a lot in the process. Even if the concentration of these components is lower in everyday products, their presence enhances the treatment and helps you achieve a better and faster result.

Take the time at home to take a break from procedures that can damage your hair.

Most hair damage causes are processes that need to be paused during recovery time. We know that, for example, pausing root touch-ups, coloring or straightening can be complicated in everyday life, when you need to go out frequently, but if you have a little time to stay at home, it is worth thinking about this tactic. With this break, you can increase the time your thread will have to recover and not get even more damaged before returning to the normal touch-up routine.
