Those who are in love with the very smooth effect always have the flat iron as an ally, right? But there is dedication! A situation that always disturbs the life of a straight hair is when those ripples start to appear due to the humidity, and the frizz screams right away. If you want to get away from these bad times, take advantage of the tips from Fica Diva to leave your locks very smooth and for longer.

1°) Wash the wires twice with shampoo to increase the duration of the straight

If you intend to keep your flat iron on for two or three days, it's best to ensure that oiliness doesn't become an issue in that shorter time. Wash your hair twice with salt-free shampoo to clean your scalp well without harming it.

2°) Dry your hair with a hairdryer to pre-straighten the strands

Even if you don't have a lot of brushing skills, try blow-drying instead of waiting for your hair to dry naturally. In addition to speeding up the process, the warm wind will help align the strands to be plated more easily. A trick that can help you is to divide the locks into smaller sections and hold each one by the tip when directing the wind from top to bottom, that way you won't even need the salon brush.

3°) Separate the hair into thin strands and apply the thermal protector

It's no use wanting to straighten a large amount of hair at once. To achieve a flattering flat iron effect, you will need to divide the locks into thinner sections and straighten them individually. It is also recommended to apply a very small drop of thermal protector (with a light texture) to the length of each strand before using the hot tool.

4°) Slide the flat iron at once

The ideal is to pass a flat iron only once, without stopping in the middle of the strand so as not to damage it. When parting your hair, start straightening from the back of your head. Go from the roots towards the tips, taking care to slide the board off at once. This also helps to avoid the formation of waves and marks on the wires.

5°) Sleep in a cap to keep the smooth effect for more days

Imagine that at the time of your mother or grandmother, women couldn't count on flat irons, because they didn't exist yet. So, a method had to be found to keep the strands in line all night long. That's when the famous technique called “cap” appeared, when women started using cut tights to wrap the locks around their heads and prevent the pillow from dismantling their hair. As the tip is old, but still very good, Fica Diva will teach you how to do it at home:

1st step: Take an old pantyhose that was abandoned in the drawer, cut the legs of the sock and tie a knot to cover the holes. The waist elastic will be the base of your cap and will be positioned on the forehead, around the head.

2st step: make a parting on one side of the head and comb all the hair to the opposite side, contouring the head as if it were a headband. Secure with clips that don't hurt.

3st step: when finished, cover the head with the stocking cap and secure with clamps throughout the process, always placing the corrugated part of the accessory downwards to avoid marks. Ready! Now you can sleep that when you wake up your locks will still be super smooth!
