To make curly hair tape, the first step is to gather the necessary items. The most important thing is to have a good combing cream, preferably one specifically for curly and frizzy hair. Generally, they are rich in vegetable oils that help to hydrate and define the hair. Our suggestion is Niely's Cachos do Seu Jeito combing cream, which has linseed oil and shea butter.

If you want to enhance your finish, the tip is to bet on the Definition Pudding, which has a firmer texture to maximize the definition of the curls. You can use it with the cream to comb or alone. In addition to the finishers, you will need a comb or a wide-toothed brush and hair clips.

How to make tape on curly hair: step by step technique

Making the tape is very simple, diva. The process is not very different from what is done on curly and wavy hair, differing only in the amount of products applied and the level of humidity. See the step by step:

Step 1: With clean and damp hair, almost wet, divide the strands into four sections.

Step 2: Release the first strand and untangle the strands with the wide tooth comb. Next, divide this section into two smaller sections.

Step 3: Apply the combing cream to the first strand and then run your fingers between the strands - this movement is what we call fitting.

Step 4: Knead the strands with your hands, from bottom to top, towards the root and let go.

Step 5: Repeat the same process on all sections of hair. Tip: if you have very long or voluminous hair, you can separate it into thinner strands.

Step 6: After finishing the tape, you can let the hair dry naturally or use a curling iron to dry the hair.

How to add volume to curly hair after styling

Fitting in curly hair gives a lot of definition to the strands and can leave them with little volume. If you're on the curly team who like very voluminous strands with movement, we have two tips to achieve this effect.

The first step to add volume to curly hair after styling is to use a fork comb or even your fingertips to “lift” the roots of the hair. This will help to make the curls looser and with movement.

The second tip is, still at the end, to change the Definition Pudding for a Volumão Jelly that has a lighter texture, which facilitates the formation of volume. After finishing the taping, use the curl diffuser to dry the strands by tilting your head at a 90 degree angle and positioning the device from bottom to top.
