ExploreHydrogen peroxide is an indispensable part of coloring. But many girls do not know exactly how to use the product, choose the right volume and what it is for. The main mistake is to believe that OX alone will be able to make any hair blonde. This agent makes it possible for the threads to open only two tones and, depending on the base color and the desired tone, the bleaching powder must be used. Want to know more tips? Hydrogen peroxide works as a developer of the chosen shade
Each component of the coloring formula is responsible for a different step in the process of changing the color of the locks. First, ammonia opens the thread's cuticle well, leaving a clear path for the next steps and, thus, removing 100% of the potential of other agents. Then the pigment penetrates this space putting color on the hair and finally, the hydrogen peroxide acts revealing the tone, reflections and nuances.
The volume of hydrogen peroxide changes according to the desired color
The color chart for colorimetry ranges from 1 to 10, where 1 represents black and 10 represents extremely light blonde. This numbering defines the first number that appears in your box, it identifies the actual color that the coloring has, for example, 7.0 is equivalent to medium blonde. And when it comes to the volume of hydrogen peroxide, this information is very important to understand when to use which type of OX.
When the first number of your permanent color is identified from 1.0 (black) to 6.0 (dark blonde), your OX will be 20 volumes. This happens because darker colors don't need as much hydrogen peroxide action to reveal the color, as the pigment shows up more easily. In shades from 6.0 (dark blonde) to 10.0, the OX must be 30 volumes to increase the development potential of lighter colors.
Do not confuse hydrogen peroxide with developer emulsion
The hydrogen peroxide and the revealing emulsion have the same formula, but the OX volume is different in each product. The emulsion is found in tonalizers (Ox of 10) and the biggest advantage is the guarantee of little damage to the capillary structure. Regarding color development and fixation, its performance is lower than hydrogen peroxide
