How to get chocolate hair color on blonde, red or dark hair

When changing the color of the locks, the main question for most women is whether it will be necessary to bleach the hair. The advantage of chocolate hair is that, to achieve this tone, discoloration is only necessary for women with very dark black hair. Even so, the bleaching action time does not need to be very long, as it is enough to reach a brown tone before applying the color to guarantee chocolate-colored hair.

As expected, owners of medium and dark brown hair can bet directly on the coloring, since the revealing cream that comes with the box is already enough to open the tone up to chocolate. Light brown hair, in this case, also does not need the discoloration, as the chocolate brown hair color is a little darker than this foundation. The same goes for natural blondes, since light hair can easily reach chocolate color — in this case, it is common for the result to be light chocolate hair, ok?

As with black hair, discoloration is also recommended for natural redheads. If you want to achieve the chocolate tone, it is important to remove the reddish pigment from the strands, as the chocolate hair color has a very brown background.

If you already use some coloring, the best technique to remove artificial pigments from your locks is pickling. As it is a little more aggressive than simple discoloration, it is best to have the stripping done by a professional.

Can chocolate hair be achieved with coloring for all hair types?

Another very common question women have when dyeing their hair at home has to do with the type of hair, but if you think that being curly, curly, wavy or straight is an impediment to change, you are very wrong! As with other colors, to bet on chocolate colored hair you just need to make sure your hair is healthy and do a strand test before application to ensure a good result.

Chocolate hair has yet another advantage in addition to being able to be applied to all types of strands: as it is a neutral color, it also matches different skin tones, from the lightest to the darkest. This makes it the best choice for anyone just starting out in the world of hair color changes.

How to care for chocolate-colored hair before and after color transformation?

In order for your hair to remain healthy after betting on the chocolate color on your hair, care for the hair must start even before the transformation. In the week of change, invest in a deep hydration in the wires to ensure that the transformation is perfect and avoid damage to the hair due to chemistry. After coloring, betting on a capillary schedule is the best way to keep your locks healthy.

Alternate hydration, reconstruction and nutrition - this step is fundamental for curly and frizzy hair -, according to your hair's needs. Capillary wetting is a way to make the replacement of lipids and nutrients even deeper. In addition, bet on a line of moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to take care of the wires during washing and include a leave-in with sun protection and thermal protection in your daily routine.

Glitter bath in chocolate hair: step by step on how to do it

Having salon hair at home is much easier than it looks, diva! Even though chocolate is a color that fades less than other coloring shades, if you want to guarantee even more luminous strands, a shine bath can be the ideal treatment to make you extend the interval between touch-ups.

For this, you will only need a toner with the same number as the color used, your favorite treatment mask and, if you want to enhance the shine and softness of the hair even more, a little coconut oil. See how to do it below!

1st step: mix the toner in a container, half of the revealing emulsion, a white base mask so as not to stain the locks and, if you want, a tablespoon of coconut oil;

2st step: after washing the hair with a salt-free shampoo, separate the strands into 4 parts to apply the mixture evenly to the locks;

3st step: wrap the wires and check if it spreads through all the locks, including the root;

4st step: let the mixture act for 30 minutes and rinse normally. Finish this step with a conditioner;

5st step: after applying the conditioner, rinse again and remove excess water with a cotton towel to avoid frizz. After that, just finish as usual.

Chocolate hair with lights is also an option to change the look

If you own very dark locks, such as brown or black, highlights in different shades of chocolate hair are also options to change the look a little without betting on the overall color. This is the ideal choice for those who don't want to lighten the strands too much, just lighten them a little to give them more movement and depth.

Light chocolate hair is the ideal shade for this, as it stands out more on naturally dark locks, gently illuminating the look. But, for those with black hair, darker chocolate tones can also be used on brown highlights.
