The French braid is a hairstyle that works great on curly hair! She is one of the favorites of the curly ones for providing practicality when styling the curls on a daily basis or on a bad hair day. The built-in braid also gains more elaborate and elegant versions for divas who want to use it in special events, such as parties and weddings. And if you want to learn how to do the braid embedded in curly hair, Fica Diva has prepared a step-by-step guide to help you, as well as some photos to inspire you to reproduce the look!

Learn how to prepare curly hair to do the built-in braid

Before reproducing the braid embedded in curly hair, it is necessary to take some precautions to avoid frizz, split ends and breakage. Curls are naturally drier, especially in length and ends, so it's important to bet on finishing oils and combing creams indicated for curly hair. As the braid makes the ends of the hair stand out, you can take care of finishing this part by wrapping the curls!

Another tip is to avoid braiding your hair when it is still wet, because despite being easier to handle the strands, this habit tends to cause the appearance of dandruff and fungus, in addition to leaving your hair broken and frizzy. After applying the combing cream or leave-in, untangle the strands with your fingers and then with a wooden comb.

Diva Tip: the Creme de Pentear Cachos do Seu Jeito, by Niely Gold, contains linseed oil and shea butter, two ingredients beloved by divas who like nourished and hydrated hair, in addition to offering anti-frizz and anti-pollution action.

Step by step: How to make a braid

1st step: With the hair already clean and finished, separate three strands at the top of the head and start braiding as if it were a traditional braid.

2st step: Before braiding again, with the hand that is only holding one strand, grab some hair from the side.

3st step: Continue to add new sections of hair as you braid the strands until you reach the nape of your neck. Don't forget to hold the strands firmly to prevent the hairstyle from coming loose easily.

4st step: Starting at the nape of the neck, braid the strands as in a traditional braid, that is, without adding new strands.

5st step: Finally, secure the end with a hair elastic to secure the braid in place.

For a more elaborate look, check out the other versions of the built-in braid

Braided hairstyles are known for their versatility and the built-in braid is no exception! You can choose to combine the braid with a bun, with a scarf, or make two built-in braids, one on each side of the head, for example. A super easy version is the side braid, which has a very similar step-by-step process to the traditional braid. The difference is that, to reproduce it, you must choose one of the sides of the head to start braiding, instead of starting from the center. Another popular option is the braid with a scarf, a version in which the accessory is used instead of one of the locks.
